"Headlights" by Buffyann:
(Best Video, Best Editing, Best Mood, Best Character)
This is an absolutely incredible character study. The visual connections between clips are fantastic, especially at the beginning with the variety of clips depicting the circular symbol (sorry -- haven't gotten that far into BSG yet so I don't know what that's called!). Every clip flows so seamlessly into the next (I especially liked the moments at 1:02 and at 2:10). You do an excellent job of creating mood, drawing the viewer in and not letting them go until the end. The tight close-ups along with the building music starting around 1:58 make my breath catch in my throat every time. Your editing style communicates Starbuck's feelings of things spinning out of control extremely well. I loved the battle scenes intercut with the boxing clips. The haunting song really gives the whole vid an epic feel. This is an amazingly powerful video and it makes me very eager to get caught up on BSG!

Yet another amazing video from you, Kitty. The concept is brilliant, a lot of vidders explore the idea of Sam going evil, but I haven't seen anyone take it anywhere near the level you have here. The constructed reality of Sam giving in to the Yellow Eyed Demon's plans is communicated perfectly. The use of overlays, especially the ones that incorporate outside source, is stunning, and so is your color work. I especially loved the scenes starting at 1:44. The clips flow with the music perfectly, creating a sinister and foreboding mood (excellent song choice as well). You have a very unique editing style and you always manage to use techniques and effects (be it coloring, cropping, zooms, overlays...) that make even scenes that I've seen used in hundreds of vids seem fresh and new, and that's quite a feat. Fantastic job, as always!
"We Will Not Go Quietly Into the Night " by Alcoholic Pixie:
(Best Use of Music, Best Overview)
I absolutely loved this video! Great use of vibrant coloring and slick effects (I especially liked the variety of composite shots). You have amazing timing, and make perfect use of music throughout the entire vid. It's an excellent season 2 overview and it's impressive how you managed to cover the entire season chronologically while still being able to take advantage of little nuances and changes in the music, such as the disc scratching parts at the beginning (especially at 0:06 and 0:10), the quickly repeated clips over "rhythm management", the in and out zooms starting at 0:23, Dean's eyes blinking at 0:26 (hee!), the car driving off at the snap in the music at 0:52, the little girl ghosts jumping rope at 2:21 followed swiftly by the news break, the split-screen transitions starting at 3:41, followed by the sequence of zooming out shots. It's such an exciting vid, it completely grabs hold of you and doesn't let go until the end. Fantastic job!

(Best Drama, Best Overview RU)
This is a very well edited video of an extremely disturbing film. You make really cool use of selective coloring, especially at the beginning. Excellent use of music (loved the shot at 0:52 for example) and there are also some really great lyrical matches. I liked the timing of the screams. The whole vid has a very intense and sinister mood. You have some really interesting and clever clip choices and connections (especially liked the use of the little clip at 1:39 of the woman eating the marshmallow after the gross scene of the dude eating the skin). Awesome vid!
"Venus" by obsessive24:
(Best Relationship, Best Editing RU, Best Music Use RU)
This is a fresh and compelling exploration of the relationship between Peter and Claire. There are so many moments where the music matches the motion perfectly, such as 0:09, 1:19, 1:33, 1:59, 2:47, I could go on. I especially liked the shot of Claire running at 0:57 and the moment at 2:39 with the quick pan down and over from the painting of Peter exploding to the painting on the studio floor. Nice subtle use of speeding up or slowing down sections of clips. You make good use of the similarities and parallel experiences in the lives of Peter and Claire. You use the building momentum of the song to its fullest, ramping up the intensity of the clips very organically with the music. Great use of internal motion and zooms. A very entertaining and expertly edited video!
"Hole in the Earth" by Castor:
(Best Action)
This is a really nicely done action vid. I loved the rapid-fire editing style used in the sections at 0:08, 1:08, 3:17. Nice use of music and great scene selection (I liked the cool little moment at 2:03). I love the visual connections between the clips along with the chilling music in the section from 2:08 to 2:48 (especially the moment at 2:29), it all flows together very nicely. I also liked the freeze frame clips near the end. Kickass vid!
"Gordon" by Andrea:
(Best Comedy)
This video is absolutely hilarious! You have great comic timing and the various captions and thought bubbles are absolutely inspired (I loved the Viagra quip and the crack about Angel's hair, especially). Loved the clip of Angel with the dress at 0:51, the shot of him angrily hurling his jacket aside as he "cries all the way to the chip shop", Riley's "cool and trendy" pants at 1:29, and the offer of the tiny cheese cube at 1:58! Nice timing on the fight scene. I laughed out loud at Angel's childish defacing of Riley's picture. Too freaking funny! Great job!
"What I've Done" by SmokeyFizz:
(Best Narrative)
This is an extremely well edited vid and you tell the story of the character very clearly. You make great use of music and overlays. I liked the quick cutting shots at the beginning with the overlay of Vader and the quiet dialogue in the background. You do a good job of making the memories visually distinct from the more current action. Vader's guilt and desire for redemption is well communicated throughout. Nice visual clip connection at 0:46. I liked the clips starting at 1:21 showing Anakin's transition from an innocent child into Darth Vader. Loved the shots at 2:12 as he thinks back on his sins as he dies. Nicely done vid!
"Stay" by Ferd:
(Best Other, Best Narrative RU)
This is an extremely well made video using an impressively seamless blend of multiple sources to create a very believable constructed reality. You have a good sense of where to blur certain scenes or use creative cropping and editing to make everything seem like it's all from the same source. The entire vid flows very nicely. I liked the intercutting of flashback love scenes at the beginning as Lois fights for her life. I loved the mood shift at 1:55 as Catwoman is introduced. The editing at 2:15 makes the fight between Catwoman and Lois look very realistic. The intercut scenes starting at 2:32 of Bruce Wayne getting ready for battle as the doctors fight to save Lois go together extremely well. I loved the building intensity starting at around 2:55 as Lois's condition worsens and Bruce becomes more and more frantic. Very cool vid!
"Nature Boy" by Sooth:
(Most Unique, Best Use of Music RU)
This is such a stylistically interesting vid. I loved how you kept a very tight focus on the darker aspects of the movie, barely involving any of the lighter and brighter scenes of Edward trying to fit in in the real world. It created a very gothic and otherworldly feel to the whole thing. You make nice use of selective coloring, nearly always keeping Edward in black and white. I loved the old time movie effect, and you made perfect use of the little nuances and changes in the music, especially the parts where scenes would rewind, then start up again. Excellent and engaging vid!

I have so much love for this video! It's such an excellent and moving study of Dean's life. You really do a great job of getting to the heart of the character and the events that shaped him into the man he is. I can't even count the number of times I said "Oh Dean!" with a lump in my throat while watching this vid. You make great use of the slow pace of the music and I loved the sepia toned shots. The fuzzy border, the overall color, and movement are all fantastic. I'd be hard pressed to time stamp particular moments because the scenes all flow together so naturally. This is an extremely well made vid and one that I look forward to rewatching many more times.
