About me:
Ringwench here, I'm a 27 year old Canadian chick. I've been vidding for about 5 years. I started off in Buffy fandom, making vids using a really crappy editing program called Power Director Pro (it's even less user friendly and functional than WMM, if you can believe it). Most of my vids weren't even shown to anyone aside from my best friend for the first year or so as I didn't have hosting, so I didn't really get a lot of feedback on my work back then (so, needless to say, they aren't exactly my best work). I made about 15 vids in that fandom (some of which you can see on my Buffy Vids page--the others aren't going to see the light of day again) before moving on to making some movie vids for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
I went through a vidding dry spell about two years ago during which I hadn't made anything for about a year, mainly because I realized I wasn't making very good vids and didn't know how to improve myself. I got back into vidding once the show Lost started, and after making a couple of vids for that show, I decided it was time to step up my game and I made it my mission to learn how to use Adobe Premiere. I re-evaluated my own vidding based on what I like to see in vids (good attention to beat, action flowing with the music, quick cuts, no talky face) and finally started to make videos I was actually proud of.
I got out of Lost fandom (because I don't even watch the show anymore) awhile back and got VERY into Supernatural fandom (which is my number one obsession to a pretty insane degree and has been since the show began--and I don't see that changing anytime soon). I'm inspired by all the other great vidders out there to always be learning new things and working on new ways to improve my vidding skills. I've recently made the switch to using Sony Vegas (which I HIGHLY recommend) for my videos. I currently have several more Supernatural vids in the works, along with some movie vids, and I'm also hoping to make some videos of the show Heroes sometime soon.
For more about me, visit my Livejournal (and feel free to friend me if you have an LJ too--I usually friend back). I also mod the Supernatural Vids Community on LJ, so if you want to see more Supernatural vids made by some really great vidders, feel free to watch or join the comm.
If you would like to contact me, either email me at ringwench@gmail.com, comment on an entry in my livejournal, or comment on the tag board.
About this site:
The site is best viewed with Mozilla Firefox. It was made using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, and is hosted by Dreamhost. The header graphic was made by me using an image from Supernatural Media, and the vid banners were made by me using images capped from downloaded or ripped episodes.
The Buffy videos, Lord of the Rings video, Harry Potter video, and two of my Lost vids (Under the Influence and Alert Status Red) were made using Power Director Pro. The other two Lost vids and all of the Supernatural vids made before Born to Kill were made using Adobe Premiere, and all of the vids from Born to Kill onward were made using Sony Vegas 6.0. All footage was either downloaded off Bittorrent, or ripped from my own DVDs.
Disclaimer:
I own NOTHING. All songs and video footage are property of their original owners (Mutant Enemy, Warner Brothers, ABC, CW, etc...).
These videos were all made for fun and as an expression of my love for the TV show or movie they came from. I am not making any sort of profit from these videos (in fact I spend money paying for hosting every month).
That being said, I did work VERY hard on all of these videos and I ask that you do not steal clips from my vids to make your own. If you are having trouble finding footage for your own videos, please email me and I will point you in the right direction to getting your own footage to use.
I would also appreciate if my vids were not uploaded to youtube or any other such site.
If you would like to link to my videos, please feel free to do so, all I ask is that you link to the page that has the video link on it and not the actual video link itself as that wastes my bandwidth.
